Under-directorate for Planning, Technology and Innovation (SDG PLATIN)
One of the DGAM’s functions is to propose and manage research and development plans and programs for national defence weapons and materiel systems, in coordination with competent national and international organizations in this field. These functions are carried out by the Under-Directorate for Planning, Technology and Innovation (SDG PLATIN), attached to the DGAM.
Also, the SDG PLATIN is also in charge of:
- Developing the Defence R&D policy.
- Drafting the Strategy for Defence Technology and Innovation (ETID).
- Coordinating and following up the R&D activities undertaken by the different Centers of the MOD, and coordinating, supervising and evaluating the results obtained by the bodies in charge of implementing the R&D policy established.
Its functions also include undertaking those actions related to the implementation of the ETID, which include managing, maintaining and promoting the Ministry of Defence’s Technology and Innovation Website.
